Hi there – I followed a link from a post in a discussion from Capt. John and, to be honest, I was expecting a more “traditional” S.Holmes tale, set around the time of Queen Victoria, handsome cabs, chimney sweeps and steam trains. My first clue I was wrong was the pictures used on the web pages leading up to the MP3 download page.
On BBC One TV, there was a 3 part mini-series in the last few months called Sherlock which took the Holmes legend and brought in bang up to date to be set in modern day London – and I suspect that was the inspiration for this production. That is NOT a detracting comment, however, as this script has been wonderfully written to weave a dark tale of ruthless criminals with scant regard to human life, yet with a remarkably small cast.
To Alexa Chipman as author – very well done! This was wonerfully in keeping with the Holmes we all know and love, but if you’re looking to emulate the Benedict Cumberbatch Holmes, would some internal thoughts vocalised by Holmes to illustrate his thought process add to the character do you think??
Am looking forward to the next installment, as Holmes is credited with saying – The games afoot!
