I really enjoyed this, the production is easily as good as anything I have heard on the radio. SF without rayguns and monsters if done correctly can be very enjoyable indeed and this proves it. I dont believe in life after death but if it were ever proved I guess the suicide rate would go through the roof as people long to love in paradise.

This reminds of something I read about Rod Serling. He was frustrated that network TV wouldn’t let him write shows about the big issues of that time period, so he used the fantasy genre on the Twilight Zone to covertly comment on these things. Mike Murphy uses the science fiction genre to touch on some very deep topics here- the deep pain from losing a loved one, the reality of an afterlife, and the need to have it hidden so that we will live by faith. Mike’s approach to storytelling is refreshing different, and I appreciate it.

Good story and I like the production values, I can’t wait to hear more from this series and the teaser from episode 2 sounds great. Good job by all involved.

I used this show in my introduction to MisfitsAudio over at otrtalk.com “First rate just finished the first ep of the new series “Strange Stories” which I found to be great reminded me a bit (and I can’t put my finger exactly on why) of the ZBS audio adventures I used to hear on our local college radio. Excellent story by Mike Murphy, good production values, and a good troop of actors (always nice to hear Julie Hoverson) made for a very listenable production.This single episode is a good repetitive of the quality of audio plays comming from MisfitsAudio.” Well more later.

This is an imaginative sci-fi tale. As with all good science fiction the story first presents new ideas and then advances the genre nicely. The production and performances really shine.

It was easy for me to get lost in this story of the near future. It brought to my mind the film 2010, the sequel to 2001 a Space Odyysey. As the character of Dave Bowman presciently says 2010 “Something wonderful is about to happen”… indeed this story is something wonderful.
